It is important to consider the visions and personal narratives of the trailblazers who, in the 1940s and 1960s laid the foundations of the Digital Culture; these trailblazers include Vannevar Bush, JCR Licklider, Doug Engelbart, Ted Nelson. These visionary thinkers and technicians showed how technology can be a means for enlarging the consciousness of all people.
